USE OF IMAGES/POEMS IN WEBSITES,
GROUPS OR PERSONAL USE

If you want to use any of my artworks, writings or poems for personal use or in your websites or groups, you can do it ONLY with this conditions:

- you must include always my name as the author near of the image/poem as this: © Cris Ortega (my name is without "h" ^_^)
- you must include a link to my site (http://www.crisortega.com) near of the artwork or in your permissions page. Excepcionally, you can use my artworks without a link back to my site if the rules of your website or group don't allow links to non G-Rated sites.
- your site must not contain illegal, pornographic, offensive or racist material.
- your site must be non-commercial and you can't sell any product with my works on it.

What you CAN do with my works:

- I allow to do tubes, sigs, tags, glitters, animation, postcards, incredimail papers, stationary, websets, avatars, PSP graphics, tutorials, etc.
- you can use my artworks in personal websites, blogs, community sites, forums, MSN or Yahoo groups and in any site with non-commercial purposes.
- you can use my artworks for your personal use.

What you can NOT do with my works:

- you can't change the faces, bodies or dresses of the characters of my images.
- the poems should not be modified in any circunstance.
- you can't link directly to my artworks, upload them to your own hosting.
- you can't use the following artworks: Butterflies Lake and the ones that are not exposed online on my websites and galleries.

If you follow this rules, you can use my works without the need to write me asking for permission. I WILL NOT ANSWER TO ANY MAIL ASKING FOR PERMISSION, sorry but I don't have time anymore to reply them. Just follow the TOU and there will be no problem :). I do no work for free, sorry. This is what I do for a living and I have to pay my bills, hope you understand :).

In the SHOP section you can find all the books and products for sale with my works. Most of them are available in books stores and online shops, you can easily found them in any search engine online, like google. When I can I put a link to some online stores so you can find the product, but I don't have information of everyone of the shops that sell my art.

There are also prints and other goods that you can only buy on internet. In that case, you can find links to each shop and there you can see the conditions and prices. If you have any question, you can write me at: shop@crisortega.com.

STYLE AND MATERIALS USED
 

I like to work with different styles, but in my sites I only expose my comic and realistic images.

Most of the times my artwoks are digital paintings or CG -Computer Graphic-, that is, images colored digitally with programs like Photoshop and Painter. The way to paint is very similar to oil or watercolors, but you work with a graphic tablet instead of a brush. In extras section you can find some tutorials where I show step by step how I usually do my works.

However, it's not the only material that I use. I like to work with pastels, watercolors, acrylics and labellers, but many of these works are not exposed in my site.

ASKING FOR ADVICES, TEACH ME TO PAINT
 
 

There's a lot of people that write me asking for a "miraculous trick" to paint like me without any effort (not exactly with that words, of course ^^). Sorry, there's no trick :). My works are the result of several years of hard work, of study and experience. It doesn't exist any miraculous trick that can teach a person to paint like a professional artist.

If you really want to be a professional artist, I only have three advices for you:

1- Work hard. When you work in this you need to have patience and practice everyday, all the time you can. Practice and experience are the key to achieve your goal.

2- Learn everything you can. Knowledge and to have a free mind will help you to find new ways to express yourself. Also don't be mad when someone critics your work, critiques can help you to find your mistakes and fix them.

3- Don't ever give up. You will find a lot of difficulties in your way, but if this is really your passion, keep working on it.
